New On My TBR List This Month
Eight new books I came across in April
I’ll admit that I haven’t added that many books to my TBR list this month. Maybe only 10 due to the fact that I feel very behind on my reading and my TBR shelf is looming over me. Nonetheless, some great looking reads came across my many screens this month, including books on cancel culture, cobalt mining, Tupac, drugs, and more.

I just came across this book this week on Twitter from the author Greg Lukianoff. I was a big fan of his previous book with Jon Haidt, The Coddling of the American Mind, and I’m excited for to read this one when it comes out later this year.
Cobalt Red: How the Blood of the Congo Powers Our Lives

I came across this book and Instagram and it was an immediate add to my TBR list. The Congo is an ever-fascinating place and is largely considered the richest country on earth in terms of natural resources. I’m curious to learn more.
Psychonauts: Drugs and the Making of the Modern Mind

Did you see the cover? The title? The topic? What an all-star looking book. I have high expectations for this. Undoubtedly it’s going to cover early LSD explorations, but I have high expectations for learning about new tales of drug adventures.

This is a recent release that’s been around the major book newsletters. I don’t have much depth of knowledge about America’s politicking in the Middle East so I’m hoping this is a helpful intro.

Tupac Shakur: The Authorized Biography

I’m a huge hip hop fan and was immediately interested in a good biography of one of the greatest rappers of all time. Plus, Crown often does a good job with celebrity biographies so I have high expectations.
The Nature of Oaks: The Rich Ecology of Our Most Essential Native Trees
